Multi-criteria evaluation of the sustainability

MacroFuels will provide a multi-criteria evaluation of the sustainability of the seaweed-based biofuel value chain, taking into account technological, environmental, economic, social, Health and Safety, and risk aspects. Based on findings from the experimental data, the most sustainable seaweed-based biofuel pathways will be identified. The purpose is to show the best possible compromise between the least Health, Safety and Environment burdens and costs and the best environmental, economic and social benefits. An assessment of alternative uses of seaweed outside the bioenergy sector will be performed.
